Easy Peasy Staal Smoked Mackerel Paté

This recipe is one of our family favourites – it’s so easy to make and is ideal for a healthy lunch!

Ingredients

130g Staal Smoked Mackerel Fillets (one pack)
250g cottage cheese (We like to use Longley Farm Cottage Cheese with Chives)
Juice of half a lemon
Ground black pepper

Method

  1. Peel the skin off the mackerel and discard.
  2. Put the mackerel in a bowl and break up a little.
  3. Add the cottage cheese, lemon, and black pepper to taste. Mix with a fork.
  4. If you prefer a smoother paté then use a food processor to whizz the ingredients until smooth.
  5. Serve with crusty bread, or use as a sandwich filling.
  6. Enjoy!
