250g cottage cheese (We like to use Longley Farm Cottage Cheese with Chives)
Juice of half a lemon
Ground black pepper
- Peel the skin off the mackerel and discard.
- Put the mackerel in a bowl and break up a little.
- Add the cottage cheese, lemon, and black pepper to taste. Mix with a fork.
- If you prefer a smoother paté then use a food processor to whizz the ingredients until smooth.
- Serve with crusty bread, or use as a sandwich filling.
